Friday, August 29th, 2025: Hello SANY Students, Families, Teachers, and Staff,
I’m Dr. Tolga Hayali, Superintendent of the Science Academies of New York. As we gear up for the new school year, I want to extend a warm welcome back. There’s so much excitement across our campuses, and we are ready to make this year a great one.
Our staff has worked hard preparing safe, welcoming, and supportive classrooms. Your children’s well-being remains our top priority.
Please ensure your contact information is current—we will use calls, texts, and emails to share important updates throughout the year. We are also launching a new communication strategy to keep you better connected.
Attendance is crucial to success. Please help us ensure your child arrives on time and ready to learn daily.
We’d like to remind all high school students about the Congressional Award. This is an excellent opportunity to earn recognition for your achievements in community service, personal development, physical fitness, and exploration. We encourage you to get involved, set goals, and take full advantage of this prestigious program!
Additionally, we are excited to offer our high school students the chance to participate in Dual Credit Programs with renowned institutions such as OCC, MVCC, SUNY ESF, and SUNY POLY. This program allows you to earn both high school and college credits simultaneously, giving you a head start on your higher education journey. Take full advantage of this unique opportunity to challenge yourself, explore new fields, and set yourself up for future success!
Before school starts, please take a moment to review our Code of Conduct and academic calendar with your child—both are available on our website and social media.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. Let’s make this school year our best one yet!
Dr. Tolga Hayali
SANY Superintendent

The Science Academies of New York has been informed by the New York State Education Department that we are required to make changes to student access for certain Google Additional Services. This directive comes from the Chief Privacy Officer at NYSED to ensure compliance with Ed Law 2-d, as Google is not able to sign a Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) for these additional services.
What’s Changing?
How Will This Affect Students?
What About Staff Accounts?
These changes are part of a statewide effort to ensure compliance with Ed Law 2-d and reinforce the district’s commitment to student data privacy and security. While we understand this may impact some aspects of classroom technology use, we are confident that these adjustments will have minimal disruption to student learning.
